5-Benzyloxy-6-hydroxy-2-(1-phenyl-cyclopentylmethyl)-pyrimidine-4-carboxylic acid (28-01) (2.7 g, 68.33%) was synthesized from 5-benzyloxy-6-hydroxy-2-(1-phenyl-cyclopentylmethyl)-pyrimidine-4-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (27-01) (4.5 g, 9.77 mmol) as a yellow solid following the procedure as described for 5-benzyloxy-2-biphenyl-2-ylmethyl-6-hydroxypyrimidine-4-carboxylic acid (7-01).
