Reaction Steps

To a stirred solution of 5-methoxy-2,6-dimethyl-4-(2-methylindol-1-yl)pyridazin-3-one (147 mg, 0.52 mmol) in DCM (3 ml) at 0° C., was added dropwise a solution of sulfuryl chloride (70 mg, 0.52 mmol) in DCM (1 ml). Further DCM (1 ml) was added. After a reaction time of 1 h, the mixture was quenched by addition of sat. aqueous NaHCO3 (2 ml). The resulting mixture was filtered through solid MgSO4, washing with DCM. The filtration liquors were concentrated in vacuo to afford the title compound as a pale brown solid (158 mg, 96%). The material was used for subsequent reactions without further purification.
