Prepared as in Example 1b from ethyl 4-hydroxy-6-phenoxyquinoline-3-carboxylate (Example 8c) and POCl3 as a tan solid (96%). 1H NR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 1.36 (t, J=8.0 Hz, 3H), 4.40 (q, J=8.0 Hz, 2H), 7.23 (d, J=8.0 Hz, 2H), 7.29 (t, J=8.0 Hz, 1H), 7.50 (t, J=8.0 Hz, 2H), 7.63 (d, J=4.0 Hz, 1H), 7.76 (dd, J=8.0 Hz, 1H), 8.21 (d, J=8.0 Hz, 1H), 9.06 (s, 1H). MS 328, 330 (MH+).
