Procedure

Prepared as in Example 24a from hydroxypivalic acid and cyclopentyl amine as an orange oil (32%). 1H NR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 1.00 (s, 6H), 1.32-1.40 (m, 2H), 1.43-1.49 (m, 2H), 1.57-1.65 (m, 2H), 1.73-1.81 (m, 2H), 3.34 (d, J=4.0 Hz, 2H), 3.98 (m, 1H), 4.87 (t, J=4.0 Hz, 1H), 7.22 (d, J=4.0 Hz, 1H). MS 186 (MH+).
