Sonogashira reaction of 39 with 5-methoxypent-1-yne gave tert-butyl 3-hydroxy-3-(3-(5-methoxypent-1-ynyl)phenyl)propylcarbamate as brown oil. Yield (0.347 g, 66%): 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.39 (s, 1H), 7.27-7.37 (m, 3H), 4.83-4.85 (bs, 1H), 4.69-4.71 (m, 1H), 3.66-3.71 (m, 1H), 3.52 (t, J=6.4 Hz, 2H), 3.48 (m, 1H), 3.36 (s, 3H), 3.29 (bs, 1H), 2.49 (t, J=6.4 Hz, 2H), 1.80-2.02 (m, 4H), 1.45 (s, 9H).
