The title compound was synthesized from 8-methoxy-5-methyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-benzo[b]azepine following the alkylation procedure for 8-methoxy-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1-ethylbenzo[b]azepine followed by the demethylation procedure used to synthesize 8-hydroxy-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1-ethylbenzo[b]azepine: 1H NMR (DMSO-d6) δ 9.15 (s, 1H), 7.05 (d, 1H), 6.31-6.25 (m, 2H), 5.80 (t, 1H), 5.30 (s, 1H), 3.12-3.03 (m, 4H), 2.17 (q, 2H), 1.97 (s, 3H), 1.09 (t, 3H); MS expected 203 (C13H18NO, M+1), found 203.
