Reaction Steps

A 500 ml round-bottom flask was initially charged with 0.25 g of 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol, 0.12 g of Desmorapid Z, 126.4 g of phenyl isocyanate, and the mixture was heated to 60° C. Subsequently, 123.3 g of 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate were added dropwise and the mixture was kept at 60° C. until the isocyanate content had fallen below 0.1%. This was followed by cooling. The product was obtained as a crystalline solid (preparation described in DE 2329142).
