trans-2-Phenylspiro[2.4]heptane-1-carboxylic acid (300 mg, 1.39 mmol) and 4-trifluoromethyl-phenylamine (224 mg, 1.39 mmol) were reacted as described under General Procedure D to furnish the title compound (300 mg, 60%) as a white solid. 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.69 (d, J=8.8 Hz, 2H), 7.58-7.52 (m, 3H), 7.33-7.20 (m, 3H), 7.15-7.12 (m, 2H), 2.92 (d, J=5.5 Hz, 1H), 2.06 (d, J=5.5 Hz, 1H), 1.93-1.91 (m, 2H), 1.73-1.60 (m, 4H), 1.52-1.40 (m, 2H). mp 171-173° C. ESIMS m/z [M+H]+ 360.2.
