The coupling of 9-methyl-3,4,5,6-tetrahydro-1H-2,5-ethanoazepino[4,3-b]indole (226 mg, 1.0 mmol; Example 2B) and 1-chloro-4-vinylbenzene (277 mg, 2.0 mmol; Aldrich) was performed according to the procedure described in Example 114B to afford the title compound: 1H NMR (300 MHz, methanol-d4) δ ppm 1.52-1.66 (m, 2H), 1.80-1.95 (m, 2H), 2.39 (s, 3H), 2.85-3.03 (m, 5H), 3.05-3.19 (m, 2H), 4.15 (s, 2H), 4.32 (t, J=7 Hz, 2H), 6.82-6.96 (m, 3H), 7.06-7.22 (m, 4H); MS (DCI/NH3) m/z 365 (M+H)+.
