The coupling of 9-methyl-3,4,5,6-tetrahydro-1H-2,5-ethanoazepino[4,3-b]indole (226 mg, 1.0 mmol; Example 2B) and 1-(trifluoromethyl)-3-vinylbenzene (344 mg, 2.0 mmol; Aldrich) was performed according to the procedure described in Example 114B to afford the title compound: 1H NMR (300 MHz, methanol-d4) δ ppm 1.45-1.55 (m, 2H), 1.78-1.88 (m, 2H), 2.39 (s, 3H), 2.84-2.93 (m, 3H), 3.04-3.13 (m, 4H), 4.13 (s, 2H), 4.37 (t, J=6 Hz, 2H), 6.91 (d, J=8 Hz, 1H), 7.09 (s, 1H), 7.11-7.16 (m, 3H), 7.33 (t, J=8 Hz, 1H), 7.42 (d, J=8 Hz, 1H); MS (DCI/NH3) m/z 399 (M+H)+.
