Procedure

The coupling of 2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1,4-ethanopyrido[3,2-b]indole (110 mg, 0.56 mmol; Example 205A) and 2-methyl-5-vinylpyridine (99 mg, 0.83 mmol; prepared as described in International Publication No. WO 2001017968) was performed according to the procedure described in Example 106A to provide the title compound: 1H NMR (500 MHz, methanol-d4) δ ppm 0.91-1.05 (m, 2H), 1.75-1.85 (m, 2H), 2.38 (s, 3H), 2.42-2.51 (m, 2H), 3.09-3.21 (m, 5H), 4.44-4.50 (m, 2H), 7.02-7.12 (m, 3H), 7.27 (dd, J=7.9, 2.1 Hz, 1H), 7.41 (d, J=8.2 Hz, 1H), 7.56 (d, J=7.3 Hz, 1H), 7.77 (d, J=2.1 Hz, 1H); MS (ESI) m/z 476 (M+H)+.
