The coupling of 8-methyl-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1,4-ethanopyrido[3,2-b]indole (80 mg, 0.38 mmol; Example 211) and 2-methylstyrene (85 mg, 0.72 mmol; Aldrich) was performed according to the procedure described in Example 106A to provide the title compound: 1H NMR (500 MHz, methanol-d4) δ ppm 0.87-1.03 (m, 2H), 1.60-1.76 (m, 2H), 1.97 (s, 3H), 2.38-2.46 (m, 2H), 2.41 (s, 3H), 3.01 (quintet, J=2.9 Hz, 1H), 3.06-3.16 (m, 4H), 4.14-4.55 (m, 2H), 6.77 (d, J=7.3 Hz, 1H), 6.91-6.97 (m, 2H), 6.99-7.03 (m, 2H), 7.32 (d, J=8.2 Hz, 1H), 7.35 (s, 1H); MS (APCI) m/z 331 (M+H)+.
