cis-4-(pyridin-2-ylamino)cyclohexanecarboxylic acid (0.22 g, 1.00 mmol) was dissolved in thionyl chloride (2 ml) at room temperature and stirred for 1 h. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure to yield the crude acid chloride, which was added to liquid ammonia/THF (1:1, 15 ml) and allowed to stir at room temperature. The reaction mixture was diluted with DCM and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to afford 100 mg of cis-4-(pyridin-2-ylamino)cyclohexanecarboxamide as off white solid.
