A solution of cis-4-(thiazol-2-ylamino)cyclohexanecarboxylic acid (200 mg, 0.88 mmol) in thionyl chloride (1 ml) was stirred for 1 h at room temperature. The excess thionyl chloride was removed in vacuo to give the crude acid chloride. Liquid ammonia/THF (1:1, 15 ml) was added to the above prepared acid chloride solution at −60° C. and allowed to warm up to room temperature. The reaction mixture was diluted with 10% MeOH in DCM and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to afford 140 mg (70%) of cis-4-(thiazol-2-ylamino)cyclohexanecarboxamide as white solid.
