Reaction Steps
The previous benzonitrile (30.2 mg; 0.12 mmol) and guanidine carbonate (45 mg; 2.5 mmol) were heated at 120° C. in dimethyl acetamide for 4 hours. The reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature and water and ethyl acetate added. Extracted with ethyl acetate and solvent removed to yield 25 milligrams of 5-(1-pyridin-2-ylethoxy)quinazoline-2,4-diamine.
