Into a 50-mL round-bottom flask, was placed tert-butyl 3-(4-[[3-chloro-5-(4-chlorophenyl)-1,2-thiazol-4-yl]methoxy]-3,5-difluorophenyl)propanoate (50 mg, 0.09 mmol, 1.00 equiv, 90%), CF3COOH (0.4 mL), dichloromethane (2 mL). The resulting solution was stirred overnight at 25° C. The resulting mixture was concentrated under vacuum. The resulting mixture was washed with 2×5 mL of methanol. The solids were collected by filtration. This resulted in 3.8 mg (9%) of 3-(4-[[3-chloro-5-(4-chlorophenyl)-1,2-thiazol-4-yl]methoxy]-3,5-difluorophenyl)propanoic acid as a white solid. 1H NMR (300 MHz, CD3OD) δ 7.56 (s, 4H), 6.84 (d, J=9.3 Hz, 2H), 5.09 (s, 2H), 2.88 (t, J=7.2 Hz, 2H), 2.61 (t, J=7.5 Hz, 2H). Mass spectrum (ESI, m/z): Calcd. for C19H13C12F2NO3S, 444.0 (M+H). found 444.0.
