A solution of Compound 118 (0.200 g, 0.372 mmol) in MeOH (10 mL) was treated with 1N NaOH (0.383 mL, 0.383 mmol) and heated at reflux for 1 day. The solvent was evaporated in vacuo to give the Compound 120, as a colorless solid (0.184 g, 91%). 1H-NMR (DMSO-d6): δ 8.46-8.51 (m, 1H), 7.98 (d, J=8.3 Hz, 2H), 7.63 (d, J=8.3 Hz, 2H), 7.56 (dd, J=9.9, 5.3 Hz, 1H), 7.21-7.41 (m, 5H), 4.75 (s, 2H), 2.25 (s, 3H); MS: m/z 524 (MH+ of carboxylic acid).
