Reaction Steps

444 mg (2.15 mmol) of 4-(4-morpholinyl)phenylboronic acid and 4.3 ml of 1N sodium hydroxide solution are added to a mixture of 0.500 mg (0.143 mmol) of N-[(3R)-1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]oct-3-yl]-7-bromo-1-benzofuran-2-carboxamide hydrochloride (Example 30A) and 105 mg (0.14 mmol) of PdCl2(dppf) in 5 ml of DMF. The reaction mixture is heated at 100° C. overnight. The solvent is removed under reduced pressure, and the crude product is taken up in methanol and filtered through kieselguhr. Purification takes place by preparative HPLC. The product fractions are concentrated and dissolved in methanol, and an excess of 1N hydrochloric acid is added. The solvent is removed under reduced pressure. Drying under high vacuum results in 393 mg (59% of theory) of the title compound.
