Reaction Steps

Reaction of 4-formyl-benzoic acid tert-butyl ester with methoxylamine hydrochloride as described in the preparation of compound 1-A gave the title oxime ether as a clear oil after chromatography on silica gel (elution hexane-ethyl acetate, 96:4) (79% yield). 1HNMR 400 MHz (CDCl3) δ (ppm): 1.60 (9H, s, t-Bu), 4.00 (3H, s, OCH3), 7.62 (2H, d, J=8.0 Hz, aromatics), 7.97 (2H, d, J=8.0 Hz, aromatics), 8.08 (1H, s, CH).
