(1-(4-Fluorophenyl)-1H-indazol-5-yl)methanol (2.46 g, 10.2 mmol) was dissolved in 80 mL DCM and treated with commercially available Dess-Martin periodinane (4.3 g, 10.2 mmol). The reaction was complete in 2 h and was filtered through a plug of SiO2 using DCM/hexane (3:1) and concentrated to give 2.47 g (100%) of 1-(4-fluorophenyl)-1H-indazol-5-carboxaldehyde. MS found: (M+H)+=241.
