A solution of 6′-(3-chloro-benzyloxy)-5′-fluoro-3,4,5,6-tetrahydro-2H-[1,2′]bipyrazinyl-4-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (I-3i) (50 mg, 0.12 mmol) in formic acid (96%, 0.5 ml) was stirred at room temperature for 2 h, and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was triturated three times with ether. The title compound 3-I was collected as a white solid (15 mg, 34%). MS (ES+) Calc: 322.1, Found: 323.4 (M+1).
