2-Bromo-5-chlorobenzonitrile was coupled with 2-(2-fluoro-5-nitrophenyl)-4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-[1,3,2]dioxaborolane in the same way as Example 1 to give 4-chloro-2′-fluoro-5′-nitrobiphenyl-2-carbonitrile as a grey solid: δH (360 MHz, CDCl3) 7.39-7.43 (1H, m), 7.47-7.64 (1H, m), 7.73 (1H, dd, J 8 and 2), 7.82 (1H, d, J 2), 8.26-8.45 (2H, m).
