Procedure
A solution of 2 mmol of the compound obtained in Step 4 in 50 ml of ethanol is treated with 2.2 mmol of sodium borohydride for 24 hours. The solvent is evaporated off under reduced pressure and the residue obtained is taken up in water and then extracted with dichloromethane. The organic phase is dried and filtered and then concentrated under reduced pressure, enabling the expected product to be obtained.
