A mixture of tert-butyl 3-oxo-3-phenylpropoxycarbamate (1.09 g, 4.10 mmol) and 2,5-difluorobenzothiohydrazide (0.515 g, 2.74 mmol) in ethanol (3 mL) were stirred together at room temperature for 16 hours. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was chromatographed (20% ethyl acetate in hexanes) to provide the product as a white solid (0.94 g, 79% yield).
