Using 3-(1-cyano-1-methylethyl)-N-[4-methyl-3-(4-nitrophenoxy)phenyl]benzamide (2.08 g, 5.0 mmol) and 10%-palladium carbon (0.5 g), and in the same manner as in Example A25(iv), the title compound (1.93 g, quantitative) was obtained as a pink amorphous substance.
