Reaction Steps

11.60 g (88.5 mmol) of chlorocarbonylsulphenyl chloride and 13.54 g (73.8 mmol) of 3-(4-chlorophenyl)propionamide are stirred in 25 ml of toluene at 70° C. for 3 h. Subsequently, the mixture is cooled and freed from a solvent under vacuum and the residue is purified by column chromatography. 15.6 g of product are obtained (99.9% purity, 87.6% yield, log P (pH 2.3)=3.36).
