Reaction Steps

To the solution of 1.2 g 2-amino-3-cyano-4-benzylamino-6-(4-acetylpiperazin-1-yl)quinoline in 20 ml pyridine, 1.5 g 3-methoxybenzoyl chloride is added and the mixture is heated at reflux temperature for 5 hours. The reaction mixture is poured onto 30 g ice-water and the precipitated solid material is filtered off. After drying 0.45 g of the title compound is obtained (MH+: 535).
