The procedure for the synthesis of 4-ethyl-6-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-pyrido[3,2-d]pyrimidin-2-ylamine was repeated, except for the use of (1,3-dioxan-2-ylethyl)magnesium bromide instead of ethylmagnesium bromide and 2,4-Dichloro-6-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-pyrido[3,2-d]pyrimidine (see WO2006135993) instead of N-[4-chloro-6-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-pyrido[3,2-d]pyrimidin-2-yl]-acetamide. The resulting title compound was characterised as follows: MS (m/z) 374.0 [M+H]+; HPLC Rt=4.46 minutes (Method A).
