A solution of Compound (9) (0.148 mmol) and diethylmethylphosphonite (1 mL) in dioxane (2.5 mL) was placed in an oil bath preheated to 100° C. for 30 minutes. The progress of the reaction was monitored by LCMS at 10 minute intervals. Once the reaction was observed to be complete, all of the solvent and phosphonite reagent were evaporated under high vacuum, and the remaining product was purified by HPLC. Lyophylization of the crude product gave Compound (10) (8.9 mg, 14%) as a white powder. 1H NMR (300 MHz, CD3OD) δ 1.22 (t, J=6.9, 14.1 Hz, 2H), 1.36 (d, J=14.1 Hz, 3H), 3.20 (d, J=17.7 Hz, 2H), 3.38 (s, 3H), 3.69 (t, J=4.8, 9.6 Hz, 2H), 3.95 (m, 3H), 4.39 (t, J=4.8, 9.6 Hz, 2H), 4.97 (s, 2H), 7.24 (s, 1H), 7.31 (m, 3H). LCMS: m/z for C19H26N5O5P++H observed 436.1 at 1.29 minutes of a 3.5 minute run, gradient 5-95% CH3CN in H2O (C18 column).
