To a solution of (R)-2-(4′-(2-(2-methylpyrrolidin-1-yl)ethyl)biphenyl-4-yl)ethanol (80 mg, 0.259 mmol) and tert-butyl 2-bromoacetate (605 mg, 3.10 mmol) in CHCl3 (3 mL) was added 2M Na2CO3 (1.939 mL, 3.88 mmol). The mixture was stirred overnight at 55° C. The aqueous layer was separated, washed with DCM, and neutralized with 2M HCl. The aqueous mixture was then purified by HPLC. LCMS m/z=368.4 [M+H]+.
