To a stirred solution of Compound (2) (278 mg) in DCM (6 mL) was added Dess-Martin periodinane (400 mg, 0.94 mmol). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 h and then diluted with DCM (10 mL) and washed with aq. saturated NaHCO3 solution (10 mL) and water (10 mL). The organic phase was filtered to remove insoluble impurities, dried (MgSO4) and concentrated in vacuo to afford (i) (276 mg) which was used in the next step without further purification. ESI-MS m/z calculated for [M+MeOH]+: 474.2; found: 474.2.
