To a solution of methyl 1-(2-cyclopropyl-3-methylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-6-yl)-2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyridine-4-carboxylate (600 mg) in DCM (10 ml) was added diisobutylaluminum hydride (1.76 M in toluene, 2.1 ml) at 78° C. The mixture was stirred at same temperature for 3 h, and allowed to warm to room temperature for 4 h. The mixture was quenched with a mixture of MeOH and water, and filtered through celite. The filtrate was concentrated in vacuo and purified by column chromatography (MeOH/DCM) to afford the title compound (200 mg) as a brown solid.
