Procedure
To a solution of the intermediate from Step A above (11 mg, 0.021 mmol) in ethanol (423 μl), was added 3-bromo-2-butanone (32.0 mg, 0.212 mmol). The mixture was stirred at 80° C. overnight. The solvent was then removed in vacuo. The residue was purified by preparative TLC using hexanes/EtOAc (1/1) as the eluent to give the indicated compound. Chiral separation using SFC on a Chiralpak AD column provided both enantiomers of the title compound. 1H NMR (500 MHz, CH3OH-d4): δ 8.59 (d, J=8.7 Hz, 1H); 7.86 (s, 1H); 7.36 (d, J=8.7 Hz, 1H); 4.92-4.82 (m, 2H); 3.08-2.88 (m, 2H); 2.38 (s, 3H); 2.34 (s, 3H); 1.94 (s, 3H). m/z=572.0 (M+H).
