Compound from Step G (15 mg, 0.026 mmol) was dissolved in a solution of THF/AcOH/1NHCl (0.2 ml:0.3 ml:0.15 ml) and heated to 70° C. for 30 minutes. The mixture was concentrated to give a pale yellow oil. Purification by preparative HPLC (sunfire C18, 30×100 mm, 5 μm, 10%-100% B over 15 minutes) afforded (2S,3S,4R,5R,6R)-2-[4-chloro-3-(4-ethoxy-benzyl)-phenyl]-6-hydroxymethyl-piperidine-3,4,5-triol (5 mg, 0.012 mmol, 46%) as a white solid. MS (ES+) [M+H]+=408.
