Cyclopropanesulfonyl chloride (0.076, 0.54 mmol) was added to a solution of 1-(piperidin-3-yl)-3,6-dihydropyrazolo[4,3-d]pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine (0.13 g, 0.54 mmol) in pyridine (5 mL), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for about 4 h. The solvent was removed in vacuo and the residue purified by RP-HPLC (Table 2, Method q) to yield 1-(1-(cyclopropylsulfonyl)piperidin-3-yl)-3,6-dihydropyrazolo[4,3-d]pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine (0.019 g, 0.055 mmol, 10%) as a white solid: LC/MS (Table 2, Method n) Rt 1.75 min; m/z: 346 (M+H)+.
