Reaction Steps
(R)-tert-butyl 2-(5-(6-methylpyrimidin-4-yl)-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-yl)-2,7-diazaspiro[3.5]nonane-7-carboxylate (72.6 g, 167 mmol) was suspended in methanol (363 mL) and 4M HCl in 1,4-dioxane (251 mL) was added. After stirring for 2 hours, the slurry was concentrated to dryness. The crude material was re-suspended in MeOH (500 mL) and concentrated (3×). The resulting solids were further dried under vacuum at 45° C. to afford the title compound (74.1 g, 99.9%).
