Reaction Steps

A mixture of compound 40 (160 mg, 0.34 mmol), Pd(OH)2/C (0.8 g) and concentrated aqueous HCl (2 drops, 37%) in methanol (10 mL) was stirred under an atmosphere of hydrogen for 10 min, filtered and evaporated to dryness under reduced pressure. Purification by preparative HPLC afforded 41 as a white solid (26 mg, 25%). LC-MS (M+H)+=296.1
