Reaction Steps
To a solution of 7-methoxy-3-phenyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-c]pyridine (193 mg) obtained in Step C of Example 10 in THF (30 mL) was added sodium hydride (60% dispersion in mineral oil, 70 mg) at room temperature, and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 10 min. 4-(Bromomethyl)benzenesulfonamide (220 mg) was added thereto at room temperature, and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 3 days, and then overnight at 60° C. Sodium hydride (60% dispersion in mineral oil, 70 mg) and 4-(bromomethyl)benzenesulfonamide (220 mg) were added thereto, and the mixture was stirred at 60° C. for 10 hr. To the reaction mixture was added water, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate/hexane) to give the title compound (173 mg).
