Reaction Steps
Using the procedure of Example 1P, but replacing ethyl thiazole-5-carboxylate with methyl 4-isopropyl-2-thiazolecarboxylate provided, after silica gel chromatography using 2% methanol in chloroform, the desired compound (Rf 0.3, 5% methanol in chloroform) in 96% yield.
