Procedure
To a solution of compound 11a (4.5 g) in dichloromethane/methanol 1:1 (100 ml) was added 5 ml of carbondisulfide. The mixture was left at room temperature for one hour. Then the solvents were evaporated and finally the remaining viscous oil was heated at 130°-140° C. in solution in 1-pentanol. When the evolution of H2S had ceased the solvents were evaporated. The resulting oil was purified by column chromatography on silica gel (eluted with ethyl acetate/methanol 1:1) yielding 2 g of the title compound 12a as a crystalline base. Mp: 184-186° C.
