The title compound was prepared from 3-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrrol-2-ylmethylidene)-1,3-dihydro-indol-2-one and succinic anhydride (modification of procedure used to prepare (3Z)-1-acetyl-3-[(3,5-dimethyl-4-1H-pyrrol-2-yl)-methylidene]-1,3-dihydro-2H-indol-2-one).
