Procedure
3-[(3,4-Dichloro-benzyl-methyl-carbamoyl]-2-hydroxy-acrylic acid methyl ester (Compound 12-B) was treated with paraformaldehyde and 2,2-dimethyl-propylamine as described in the preparation of Compound 12. The resulting residue was purified by chromatography (YMC Combiprep ODS-A, 30 mm×50 mm, MeOH/H2O/0.1% TFA) to yield the title compound as a white powder (7.9 mg, 4% yield). 1H NMR (500 MHz, DMSO) δ: 7.42 (d, 1H, J=8.24), 7.36 (s, 1H), 7.12 (d, 1H, J=8.24), 4.61 (s, 2H), 4.26 (s, 2H), 3.27 (s, 2H), 3.04 (s, 3H), 0.93 (s, 9H). HRMS (M+H) calcd for C18H23N2Cl2O3: 385.1085; found: 385.1079.
