3-[(3,4-Dichloro-benzyl-methyl-carbamoyl]-2-hydroxy-acrylic acid methyl ester (Compound 12-B) was treated with paraformaldehyde and 7-amino-heptanoic acid as described in the preparation of Compound 12. The resulting residue was purified by chromatography (YMC Combiprep ODS-A, 30 mm×50 mm, MeOH/H2O/0.1% TFA) to yield the title compound as a white powder (11.2 mg, 5% yield). 1H NMR (500 MHz, CDCl3) δ: 11.95 (bs, 1H), 11.00 (s, 1H), 7.61 d, 1H, J=8.24), 7.52 (s, 1H), 7.25 (s, 1H), 4.58 (s, 2H), 4.04 (s, 2H), 3.36 (m, 2H), 2.98 (s, 3H), 2.18 (t, 2H, J=7.33), 1.48 (m, 4H), 1.26 (m, 4H). HRMS (M+H) calcd for C20H25N2Cl2O5: 443.1140. found: 443.1153.
