N-(3,4-Difluorobenzyl)-2-(2,2-dimethyl-5-oxo-[1,3]-dioxolan-4-ylidene)-N-methoxy-acetamide was treated with methanol as described in the preparation of Compound 44-D and gave the title ester as white crystals (53% yield); mp 76–77° C. 1HNMR 400 MHz (CDCl3) δ (ppm): 3.72 (3H, s, OCH3), 3.90 (3H, s, OCH3), 4.77 (2H, s, NCH2), 6.45 (1H, s, CH), 7.05–7.19 (3H, m, aromatics). Anal. calcd for C13H13F2NO5: C, 51.83; H, 4.35; N, 4.65. Found: C, 51.78; H, 4.28; N, 4.53.
