N-(3-Bromo-4-fluorobenzyl)-2-(2,2-dimethyl-5-oxo-[1,3]-dioxolan-4-ylidene)-N-methoxy-acetamide was treated with methanol as described in the preparation of Compound 44-D and gave the title ester as white crystals (44% yield); mp 107–108° C. 1HNMR 400 MHz (CDCl3) δ (ppm): 3.72 (3H, s, OCH3), 3.90 (3H, s, OCH3), 4.77 (2H, s, NCH2), 6.45 (1H, s, CH), 7.09 (1H, m, aromatic), 7.25 (1H, m, aromatic), 7.53 (1H, m, aromatic). Anal. calcd for C13H13BrFNO5: C, 43.11; H, 3.62; N, 3.86. Found: C, 43.10; H, 3.54; N, 3.87.
