4-[[6-Chloro-5-[(cyclohexylacetyl)amino]-2-quinolinyl]amino]-butanoic acid 1,1-dimethylethyl ester (Example 7 (a)) (200 mg) was dissolved in dichloromethane (3 mL). Trifluoroacetic acid (1 mL) was added and the mixture stirred for 3 hours. The resultant suspension was evaporated to dryness and recrystallised from acetonitrile to give the title compound (20 mg).
