Reaction Steps
A solution of 1.0 eq. of 2-(quinolin-8-ylsulfanylmethyl)benzoic acid in CH2Cl2 was cooled to 0° C. To this was added 1.1 eq. of oxalyl chloride followed by one drop of DMF. The mixture was warmed to room temperature and stirred for a time sufficient for reaction completion. The mixture was concentrated to give 42 which was used directly.
