Reaction Steps

20 g of calcium carbonate (calcium content: 38%) was dispersed in 500 ml of water and dissolved therein by stirring, and 60 g of aspartic acid was added thereto to perform a reaction, then the solution was continually stirred until the calcium carbonate and aspartic acid were entirely dissolved. Bubbles were generated in the initial stage of reaction but they disappeared after a certain time. The resulting reaction solution was centrifuged to remove insoluble materials, and the clear supernatant was separated. The supernatant was freeze-dried to obtain about 78 g of calcium-aspartic acid chelate.
