0.5 g (0.0039 mol) of 3-hydrazono-butan-2-one O-methyl oxime is boiled under reflux in 5 ml of ethanol with 0.96 g (0.0039 mol) of 2-[(5,6-dihydro-[1,4,2]dioxazin-3-yl)-methoxyimino-methyl]-benzaldehyde for 2 hours. The reaction mixture is allowed to cool slowly to 20° C. and the crystals are filtered off to give 0.9 g (64.7% of theory) of 3-({2-[(5,6-dihydro-[1,4,2]dioxazin-3-yl)-methoxyimino-methyl]-benzylidene}-hydrazono)-butan-2-one O-methyl oxime.
