8.0 g of bis(cyclopentadienyl)ruthenium, 3.0 g of aluminum chloride, and 80 g of polyphosphoric acid were mixed. The mixed solution was heated to 100° C. under a nitrogen atmosphere, to which 4.0 g of n-propyl alcohol was added dropwise over 30 minutes, and then the mixture was heated to 120° C. to carry out the reaction for 4 hours. After the reaction was completed, hot water was added to the solution to remove the polyphosphoric acid, and then distillation treatment gave 1.8 g of n-propylcyclopentadienyl(cyclopentadienyl)ruthenium.
